The scholarship is available to professionals from 42 countries:

About the scholarship
The Swedish Institute is offering 600 full-time Masters Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP), beginning in autumn 2021.
You can check the list of master’s programs available through this link (in English).
- The first step is to submit a study application for a master’s program via the University Admissions website link between the period 16 October 2020 to 15 January 2021.
- The next step is to apply for a Swedish Institute scholarship between the period 8-18 February 2021.
scholarship benefits:
- Study expenses: paid directly from the Swedish Institute to the Swedish University
- Living costs: 10.000 SEK / month
- Travel Scholarship *: 15,000 SEK
- Sickness and accident insurance (link in English)
- Membership in the Swedish Institute for Global Future Leaders network: (NFGL) – a platform to develop professionally and build your own network in Sweden
- Membership in the Swedish Institute’s alumni network after the end of the grant period – a platform for continued communication and professional development in the future
- The travel grant is paid one time during the full study period. And this scholarship does not include students residing in Sweden.
This scholarship does not include:
- Additional scholarships for family members.
- Registration costs at the university.
Duration of the scholarship
The scholarship is intended for studying a full-time master’s program of one or two years duration and is only awarded to study programs beginning in the fall semester.
The scholarship is available for one academic year (two semesters) at a time and will be extended to programs that require a longer period of time than two semesters, after proving that the student has passed the subject exams.
It is not possible to change or extend the duration of the established scholarship or change the study program to a different master’s program from that previously awarded
selection criteria :
Professional Experience
You must have completed at least 3000 hours of work, which must be supported by papers from the employer (s).

University admission
The scholarship is intended for those who followed the university admission steps in Swedish universities, paid the costs of study, and was accepted into one of the appropriate master’s specializations by a deadline of April 9, 2021.

Leadership experience
You must have proven leadership experience from your current or previous employer.

Country of domicile
You must be a citizen of one of the countries covered by the scholarship program, but you do not need to be a resident of the country at the time of application.

There are also some conditions for holders of dual nationalities, or those who have previously resided and studied in Sweden, and other criteria.

Who are we looking for
The Swedish Institute’s Scholarship Program for Global Professionals is part of the Swedish Global Government Award Scheme that aims to develop future leaders who will contribute to the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The scholarship is funded by the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and administered by the Swedish Institute. The program provides a unique opportunity for academics with professional experience to develop professionally and academically, learn about Swedish society and its culture, and build a long-term relationship with it.
The goal is to empower female grantees and recipients to play a positive role and contribute to the development of their communities in which they live. The nominees and ideal candidates are elite of aspiring academics with proven academic qualifications and professional and leadership experience. In addition to being ambitious and eager to make a difference by working to achieve a fair and sustainable development in their country in the long term, they have a clear vision of how their scholarship in Sweden can contribute to achieving this goal.
Priority is given to female applicants and applicants with relevant professional background and demonstrated leadership experience.
How to apply
- Submit an application to register for the master’s program on the universityadmissions.se admission portal (16 October 2020 to 15 January 2021).
- Submit an application for the Swedish Institute’s scholarship for global professionals from (February 8, 2021, to February 18, 2021).
- Obtaining a decision/notification of the University Admissions Office on April 9, 2021, of the application result.
- The announcement of the 600 recipients of the Swedish Institute scholarship on April 28, 2021.
